Precision Assembly Group was founded in June of 1998 in Shenzhen, China, a city of four million located just across the border from the Northern Territories of Hong Kong. Since its inception, the company has grown from three employees and a single product to more than 45 employees and a range of products spanning sourced magnetic materials to complex high precision assemblies.Jade can trace its beginning to a plan conceived by Gordon McNeil, President of Magnetic Technologies Corporation (MagTech), a Arnold company. Prior to the acquisition of MagTech by Arnold, MagTech engineers had successfully sourced a number of critical, high precision components from suppliers in China, contradicting conventional opinion which held that Chinese companies were incapable of meeting the quality requirements of demanding applications. This experience and the inevitability of conducting business in Asia, motivated Mr. McNeil to lay the groundwork for a China joint venture with GCCI, a manufacturer of laser printer cartridges with operations in Shenzhen. Following the integration of MagTech into Arnold, management moved rapidly to initiate manufacture in China. In August of 1998, Jade shipped its first developer assembly for an engineering copier system manufactured by Xerox in China. 
Since that first shipment, Precision Assembly Group's product line has broadened to include a variety of assembled components for reprographics operations, as well as assemblies and materials for other applications. Components produced by Precision Assembly Group can contain in excess of one hundred different metal and plastic parts as well as magnetic materials, and all are built to high levels of precision.From the beginning, Precision Assembly Group's mission has been to provide competitive pricing while maintaining world-class quality standards. A key in achieving that objective has been the development of a network of qualified suppliers throughout Asia. Precision Assembly Group management also has striven to implement a robust internal quality assurance system, using MagTech as a model. Success of these efforts has resulted in achieving ISO 9002 and Xerox certificatiions. 
In addition to producing value-added assemblies, Precision Assembly Group sources precision components and magnetic materials for other Arnold companies creating opportunities for cost reduction and increased competitiveness.Precision Assembly Group's operations occupy a 30,000 square foot, three story building in Yulu Village, a small industrial area on the outskirts of Shenzhen City. With the exception of the General Manager, all employees are PRC nationals. The Precision Assembly Group workforce is, by Chinese standards, a select group.
