HOME : PLANTS : OGALLALA PLANT : HISTORY 1955 : Ogallala Electronics began as part of the Goodall Electric Company. 1961 : A small group of local investors purchased the solenoid (electromagnet) business from Goodall Electric Company and formed Ogallala Electronics Mfg. Inc. 1963 : O.E.M.I. purchased the electromagnetic business from Automation Industries Inc. in Boulder, Colorado, and relocated it to Ogallala, Nebraska. 1967 : The Arnold Engineering Company purchased O.E.M.I. and it became known as the Ogallala Electronics Division of The Arnold Engineering Company. 1972 : Alnico and ceramic permanent magnet materials were transferred to Ogallala from sister plants to be cut and processed into custom sizes and shapes. 1991 : Rare earth magnetic materials were introduced into Ogallala’s process and offered as a new product group. 1998 : Arnold purchased the solenoid business from Premier Microwave, located in Port Chester, New York. The business was relocated and consolidated into Ogallala’s solenoid business. TODAY : The Ogallala Electronics Division of Magnetic Technologies Corporation is the industry leader in Shaped Field Electromagnets and Custom Permanent Magnets.
