ASSEMBLER

Job Location: Rochester, New York USA

Department: Assembly Operations Production

Summary of Duties: Responsible for assembly and/or scanning of small or medium sized parts, fitting and/or adjustment of interrelated parts and/or assembly, adjustment and/or repair of sub-assemblies and major assemblies.

Supervision and Direction Received: The Assembler will receive direction from the Production Group Leader, Assistant Supervisor, Supervisor and/or Manager.

Supervision and Direction Exercised: The Assembler will not have supervision over other job classifications in the area. The Assembler will be a part of a team that works together to benefit Arnold Magnetic Technologies and its employees.

Typical Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:
 •   Maintain proper quality and quantities of manufactured materials.
 •   Operate small equipment such as presses, magnetizing/demagnetizing equipment, scanners.
 •   Perform SPC on all related jobs.
 •   Operate degreasing systems.
 •   Set up equipment where applicable.
 •   Calibrate and zero equipment.
 •   Perform preventive maintenance.
 •   Use general measuring instruments, such as indicator, calipers, height gages, gage blocks.
 •   Rotate from one job to another as needed.
 •   Maintain accurate documentation.
 •   Follow all established company policies.
 •   Follow all established safety procedures and precautions throughout the company.
 •   Notify supervisor of all unsafe/hazardous conditiona or defective equipment.
 •   Team involvement utilizing TQ skills.

Working Conditions:
 •   May be required to work in non-air-conditioned setting.
 •   Required to do repetitive work.
 •   Likely exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives and other chemicals.
      NOTE: all safety precautions will be used.
 •   Intermittent long periods of sitting and/or standing.
 •   Daily periodic lifting of materials and parts not to exceed 40 pounds.
 •   Possible frequent rotation to different jobs.
 •   May work in areas with excessive noise.
      NOTE: Ear protection available.
 •   Certain jobs can be extremely dirty.
      NOTE: Smocks or work outfits are provided.

INSPECTOR

Job Location: Rochester, New York USA

Department: Quality Assurance

Summary of Duties: Responsible for the inspection of incoming material, in-process assemblies and assemblies ready for shipment to customers. Required to interface with other departments and suppliers to resolve product quality problems. Responsible for other inspection duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Supervision and Direction Received: The inspector will receive direction from the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Supervision and Direction Exercised: The inspector will not exercise direction as part of normal duties.

Typical Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:
 •   Inspect product using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers and optical comparators.
 •   Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased materials.
 •   Perform final audit of manufactured product.
 •   Perform in-process inspection of assemblies.
 •   Perform magnetic material properties measurements on incoming purchased magnets using a permeameter.
 •   Responsible for the construction and monitoring of X-bar and R charts per specified requirements.
 •   Required to complete various inspection reports, logs and other documentation.
 •   Interface with other departments to resolve quality problems.
 •   Interface with suppliers to resolve quality problems.
 •   Interface with engineering department to review manufacturing inspection and assembly fixtures.

Working Conditions:
 •   May be required to work in non-air-conditioned setting.
 •   Likely exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives and other chemicals.
      NOTE: all safety precautions will be used.
 •   Required periodic lifting of materials and parts not to exceed 35 pounds.
 •   May work in areas with excessive noise.
      NOTE: Ear protection available.
 •   May be required to work beyond normal hours.

Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Experience/Qualifications:
 •   Experience with basic measuring equipment including micrometers, height gauges, calipers and optical comparator.
 •   Ability to read blueprints.
 •   General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
 •   Mathematical proficiency.
 •   Strong communication and organizational skills.

MACHINE TOOL OPERATOR

Job Location: Rochester, New York USA

Department: Machining Center

Summary of Duties: The primary responsibility of the machine tool operator is to attend machines while the machines produce parts. The machine tool operator is responsible for maximizing the quantity of parts while maintaining quality.

Supervision and Direction received: The machine tool operator will receive direction from the machining center group leader, supervisor and manager.

Supervision and Direction Exercised: The machine tool operator will not have supervision or direction over other employees in the machining center.

Typical Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:
 •   Installs proper oils and coolants.
 •   Loads barfeed units with 12-foot length materials.
 •   Removes chips and old oils from machine and properly disposes of them.
 •   Changes machine oils, coolant and filters.
 •   Maintains tooling to perform at maximum efficiency.
 •   Familiar with various tools and installation of them.
 •   Uses general measuring instruments (indicator, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gage blocks, rules, protractor and height gages).
 •   Converts between standard and metric measuring systems.
 •   Maintains proper quality and quantities of manufactured materials.
 •   Follows all established safety procedures and precautions throughout company.
 •   Adjusts machines accordingly for quality and quantity.
 •   Moves from one machine to another.

Working Conditions:
 •   May be required to work in non-air-conditioned setting.
 •   Required to do repetitive work.
 •   Likely exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives and other chemicals.
      NOTE: all safety precautions will be used.
 •   May work in areas with excessive noise.
      NOTE: Ear protection available.
 •   Intermittent long periods of sitting and/or standing.
